Blakean Grammar
We shall all pass on; returning to the state we were in
prior to this epic journey. As Mark Twain said, “Without the slightest
inconvenience.”
For some strange reason, I do not fear death. I don’t really
struggle to understand that I am but one garment, worn by The One True
Observer. God sees everything I see. God hears everything I hear. God,
furthermore, loves everyone I love. It is not blasphemy to say that I Am God.
It is not unlike saying, “I Am Alive.”
To say, “I Am Alive.” Is to say, “I Am A Life.” And that is
the same as saying, “I Am An Expression of Life.”
When I was a boy, I could literally feel myself swelling up
like a wave in this ocean of otherness. I noticed some waves were higher, some
were lower, some were swelling like me and some were already crashing, but as a
man, as an old man, I see that I am a part of The One Ocean, as Watts carefully
explained. It is, of course, not a literal ocean, but humanity and that, out of
which humanity arises and crashes: Life. The Ocean is Life and we are all
connected waves. As for consciousness, that is a universal destination for all
personal experience.
I’ll tell you how it works: if you develop a personality and
then you develop friendships and then if you gain knowledge and acquire things,
and then you go and get a haircut, you may notice your hair falling to the
floor, in a pile. Then you may notice the stylist as he or she sweeps the hair
or vacuums it up and discards it. Does the hair depart with your personality?
You probably won’t even miss it. Although, if it is a drastic change of style,
someone might notice and say, “You look different.”
But the hair was merely a very simple part of how You were
expressing who You are; it did not take You away when it fell to the floor.
And death, like Hair, is a change of expression. In some cases, a body will
fall to the floor the way hair does when it has been cut. If that happens to
You, You may notice another kind of sweeping and a different kind of disposal,
but the elimination of that body is not unlike the elimination of hair. Once
that particular body expires, You won’t be able to bundle it up and restore it
to Life. You will feel completely different, but You will have to let the body
go. So who are You?
You are actually Alive on a plane, higher than the body
could ever comprehend. The mind, in the skull of the body You are presently
occupying, is only there to serve the one, temporary expression which You refer
to as “me”.
Memories are contained in That mind. Thoughts are in That mind. Favorite colors and the taste of vanilla is in That mind. Those events
will end when That body expires. And it is not that you will forget who You
thought You were. It will, at first, feel more like a dream and You will awaken
to Who You Always Were. What will be completely unaffected by the body’s
expiration will be All of the Love which has been connecting You to Others
while You were “me”. Thoughts, favorite colors, and the taste of vanilla will dissolve
into The Universal Consciousness where it will continue to accumulate and
evolve, to enhance all of creation. You will then remember that all favorite
colors are simply all colors, and that You have been enjoying unique favorites
while observing from unique perspectives, while being unique “me’s”.
Reincarnation? It won’t be necessary for You to be
reincarnated. You will awaken to see that All incarnation is the result of Your
embodiment as those many expressions. Your hands are The Hands which bring all
puppets to Life.
The journey to finding God will always lead You back to You.
You may – while expressing Yourself as someone – decide that
You do not want to go all the way to the end, where you will find the
beginning. This can be very uncomfortable to a form. Imagine going in for a
trim and getting shaved instead. You might look in the mirror and not like such
drastic measures. You may not want to know that All is One. Considering Life
through the eyes of me, me wants to experience the uniqueness of me. But there
is a clue, even then:
When me thinks itself to be the experiencer, it forgets that
it is made of trillions of cells, and that each cell thinks itself to be the
experiencer as well, but me can easily ignore that simpleton cell and even
excuse its foolishness. But then, beyond the me, there is You and You are made
of trillions of me’s. You are fully aware of the many me’s that have all gone
into Being You, but You will always be You, while me’s come and go forever.
The Observer is You.
Nothing will ever be lost unless that loss benefits The All.
An example? If you are driving on the highway and someone cuts you off and if
that makes you angry, that entire scene will end up on the floor, cut from the
Complete works of God. There is no good reason to keep that scene in The
Director’s Cut.
The Bible refers to such scenes as sin. Sin is just a missed opportunity to Love or the absence of Love in a scene. Those scenes end up in what The Bible calls hell.
Nothing burns better than a scene with anger,
frustration, bitterness, greed, hatred, lies or crimes.
With that in mind, I want to remind you of scenes that The
Director keeps. Do you remember loving someone? Your child, your spouse, your
parent, a friend? That scene stays. Love cannot be cut from You. Love reveals
the connection which binds You to All. Instead of dying when the form dies,
Love is  perfected and remembered
forever.
So, if you shut a door on your finger when you were five,
that entire scene gets cut, but if you looked into someone’s eyes when you were
fifteen, and realized You were One with that Other, that entire scene will
never fade; it only grows.
Are we, therefore, in a movie? That’s just one way of
looking at it, but we are in a production. Wherever you find yourself at this
moment, you’ve been cast as who you think you are and this moment has the
potential to be remembered as a beautiful part of this production; or you could
have a bad attitude, right now, and The Director can’t do a thing with that.
Make the choice to become a star of this feature. Remember
that the story is supposed to be a feel-good epic and remember that you can
always perform adlib. If, what you are doing includes Love, then it should have
the right kind of effect on your portrayal. And if you allow Love to guide you
through every scene, you will awaken to find that you are a leading character
in This Epic called “ETERNITY”.
So reincarnation? Not really. It’s just eternity. The
Observer has always been and always will be. You? You could be remembered or
forgotten; the choice is yours. If you are remembered, it will only be the
result of Love in your experience; and if you are, in fact, remembered, it will
be Your memory of You.
You won’t be remembered as that individual who lived and
died with your personality. No, if you are remembered as who you think you are,
it will be You, remembering Your Life, when you thought You were the very
person you presently think You are.
