Joy
I once was very young and now, I am somewhat old. I’ve
gathered some knowledge and I have earned some wisdom. Some of this wisdom has
given me a foundation of understanding. I have finally come to the ultimate
conclusion that there is a reason for Life and a reason to live; and that
reason, born out of Love, is Joy.
As much as possible, I have tried to look at the ideas put
for by some of the wisest teachers I could find. As for philosophy, I see a
network, interconnected with all good ideas, but there is always enough of a
difference to create a new fractal in any universal theory. In other words,
what people believe seems to be all over the place. However, after years of very
careful study, I still see that most of these theories, ideas, guesses and
dogmas have more in common than most of their pushers ever care to admit.
At the ultimate core of this wildly fibrous network, Love is
the central theme. All of the encouraging isms point back to Oneness and
Oneness is not a derivative, but a property of Love. To suggest that we are
all, one, interrelated organism, would be to say that an emphasis on The Whole
would do us all good.
When tested, this does appear to be the case. Equality gives
us all the same edge. To treat someone as an equal is not to downgrade the way
you treat yourself; it is to spread any advantage you have, as thinly as
possible, throughout The Whole.
It has been referred to as altruism and it has been called
charity, resulting from personal sacrifice. However, that doesn’t paint the
bigger picture broadly enough; The most selfish attribute you’ll ever develop
is selflessness.
This is the truth behind The Golden Rule. Consider what you
do, as if it is being done to you. If you think this will make you a better
person, then that idea needs to be the first to go. Our goal should not be some
ultimate excellency after all; our goal should be to see that The Whole improves
for All, including your-self.
A mistake one could make might be to give everything they
have to the poor and to starve to death so others may eat. The result does
nothing for The Whole or the self. If that sacrificial giver thought that
giving all of his or her ultimate gifts would give them some kind of edge as a
being, then their thinking is as distorted as the one who steals and keeps all
of their spoils for the-self. You are not here to be a winner; you are here to
win for everyone.
