The Two Lanes

Thoughts are only as good as they serve to transcend themselves. Descartes famously said, “I think, therefore I am.” But I think Descartes was not thinking when he said this. He nearly had it, but should have backed into it and said, “I Am, therefore I think.”

The fundamental, continuous, Universal Mind is that from which personalities mine each jewel in Indra’s Net. Study any jewel in the great net and you will see the perfect reflection of all the other jewels, forever.

In one atom are untold lands, and as in one, so in each. ~ The Incalculable

“To see a World in a Grain of Sand

And a Heaven in a Wild Flower

Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand

And Eternity in an hour” ~ William Blake; Auguries of Innocence

What is the lesson and how can we apply it to our lives?

The lesson is that our thoughts have the capacity to come from nature, where All is created; or to stagnate in our minds where each thought comes forth stillborn. Every thought you have is a seed, with the potential to become something great. However, if that thought cannot live through to its full term, in the womb of your skull, it will never show signs of life.

This is the whole story. This is your story. This is everyone’s story. Your mind is but a womb or a tomb.

Goddard was right to suggest that Christ was poetically crucified at Golgotha: which is Aramaic for “The place of the skull.” The Latin word for the part of the skull where the brain is located is “Calvaria”. It is where we get our English word, Calvary.

What is the skull but the place where thoughts are either damned to hell or resurrected, to live forever?

What is that Christ-Nature we ALL have?

It simply means: Anointed

What is that Buddha-Nature we ALL have?

It simply means: Awakened

I would love to give you the ritualistic doctrine for your awakening, but it does not exist. You are already an anointed, awakened being; those are your being’s most fundamental characteristics. There is nothing for you to awaken from or into. The only frustration you’ll ever experience is human. The form always struggles to grasp the ungraspable. “We wrestle not against flesh and blood…”

If you feel that you are on a spiritual journey, then that feeling has arisen in your spirit; but the truth is that you were always on a spiritual journey. Having human nature is to draw the lines where your humanity stops; but that self-imposed limitation has no effect on your spirit. Entropy obeys the basic laws of thermodynamics; while Eternity remains boundless. The fact that you are a human being should suggest the obvious: that you will die and you will live forever. To be human is to enjoy this life, labor and receive your reward. To be a being is to Love, laying up your treasure in Heaven.

You are on the path of a human-being right now. If you want your reward now, you should look to all of your human achievements and your capacity for increases. If you also want your eternal reward, you should transcend your humanity and Love All. To accomplish more in your life-time (your story’s journey) then you will want to do all that is humanly possible. To accomplish more eternally, you’ll only need to turn your attention to everyone and everything and the stories of others and Love unconditionally; that is awareness. That is awakening.

There is nothing else one must do. If you Love, then that alone is your own sight, set on things above.

Imagine a two-lane roadway. Traffic goes in both directions, but look carefully and you will see that there are many lanes on one side of this roadway. It is crowded and it may even look dangerous. The other lane almost appears closed. Weeds are growing almost to the center of the single lane. It is not well-trodden and smoothed out; it is almost treacherous in places. You don’t have to do anything to make sure you are on this highway; you are on it. If you take a look at yourself in the mirror, you will see the wide-lane and all of its effects. It leads to destruction. We are all going to die a physical death. That is a natural law. However, if you know Love, then you know the other lane. The other lane (Love) is not opposed to the broad-lane; it only represents your awakening being and its ever increasing awareness of All; from whence it came.

Your Eternal Life is strictly composed of all that you’ve freed from the path of your life’s story and allowed to travel on its own, natural path, in the direction of Love, which never dies.

When your story is over, the last page says, “THE END”, and the story goes into the perishable library where all stories go to turn into black text on yellowing pages, where it will remain until the pages are too fragile to turn and then finally, the whole book turns to dust. However, if Love was a part of your story, that part has been reprinted, revised and reborn.

So what are the commandments you’ll need to remember? Love All.

Everything you really need to know can be discovered in those two, simple words. It really isn’t magical, religious or even miraculous; Love is the most fundamental element of All. Love is The Singularity, from which All came and to which all will collapse.

In The Beginning was the Word, and The Word was Love. Love created All things, and without Love, nothing has been created.
