Participation
Some days, it feels we are all here with very little
instruction. We have a body and the body has needs and we try to keep it safe
and well, but then, we try to figure out how to fill the voids we yet feel. I’ve
made plenty of money in my lifetime. I’ve had things and I have gone places,
but nothing comes close to love. Relationships are the most important thing
about life. Underneath the obvious, we seem to know something about our
interrelatedness. It hasn’t a thing in the world to do with a thing in the
world. Oneness can only be felt as the final participation of otherness.
We portray the individuals drawn on our story’s board, but
we can use our imagination to discover the original artist, who imagined us,
created us and then portrayed us. Upon life’s broader canvas, the shapes and
colors really are unique and even isolated, but if I consider the canvas, I see
it as one work. If I consider The Artist, I see where The Life I call my own
originates.
If we take the path back to where it seems to have begun, we
would see that it starts with a thought. However, the thought is not
fundamental. Only Love is fundamental. Love is The Eternal and thought is the
original, first cause.
Love would certainly be just fine without me. But if Love is
Eternal – and it is – I am Love’s experience. This is not a test; it is a game.
Love is having the time of Its Life.
Let’s consider why Love would behave this way: Love is The
Perfect singularity. Why explode? Hiding Its identity from Itself, Love could
expand. Instead of Being Love, Love could become a net, with reflecting
intervals; each with the capacity to experience Love. In every interval of this
infinite net, there is suddenly otherness. Unless Love becomes the part of a
jewel’s reflection, that jewel does not expand. The choice to Love is available
to every jewel. If you Love, you are a part of All and you are involved in The
Expansion. Exercising that choice to Love connects you to The Author and to all
of that which participates in The Expansion of Love. By loving, you do not lose
your identity. You keep it. What was once just an earthly experience, develops
as a Spiritual experience. In Love, you have your being.
“For in Love we live, and move, and have our being; as certain
poets have said: we are Love’s offspring.” ~ Acts 17:28 MCV
We each have our being within God, and God is within each
one; but oneness pervades our experience. Love pervades All.
You don’t lose your identity. You keep it by making an offering
out of it. You make a decision to participate in Love. Making that decision is
to live eternally. The only sin which leads to death is the failure to Love.
