The Strait Gate
Often, a big carmaker will display a “Concept-Car”. We will get a good look and we take pictures of the idea brewing
in Michigan or in Japan somewhere. The car, or truck, is usually as amazing as
anyone could possibly dream up. The fenders are bolder, the colors are extreme,
the tires and wheels are flashy and even the headlights are shaped like
something off of The Jetsons. But then, years later, when the maker finally
begins to offer the “concept” to the public, it is a boring, generic
replacement. Instead of giving the public what we saw at the show, they just
stick a label on one of their basic models and they add a few stickers and call
it new.
When I tell you that The Force is NOT a “Concept”, this is
why. It is not something made up in the minds of religious zealots with a great
idea. You have to give it time. You have to give it some serious thought. When
I tell you about The Force, I am not trying to explain what cannot be explained;
I am trying to explain that it cannot be explained. The Force is simply the
fact that All is One. All is Love.
Consciousness is not fundamental. I get where this idea comes from and I can see how it could get a lot of traction, but at the end of any long day, I believe that consciousness is a thing and that thing is an event. I think it could be considered fundamental if you are referring to the startup of time and space, but if you wanted to discover how that startup came about, I think you’d necessarily have to consider consciousness as a first-cause. I believe that if we were to peer one layer deeper than this first cause, we would get to The Uncaused. Think of The Uncaused as Providence, with just one outlet available in our Universe, plugged into that One-Outlet, the first thing powered thereby is a Power-Strip, with many other outlets. That Power-Strip is consciousness, but it is powered by the One Outlet, whose source is not in or of this universe, but this universe is in and of it. It is The Word. Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times things that are not yet done.
Unlike the concept-cars, this concept is more exciting than what you’ve ever been introduced to.
Consciousness is a concept and you and I are parts of it.
But there is more to Life than this. Consciousness arises out of All.
If you have a lamp, and an outlet in your room, and if you
plug it in, you may then have light; provided all of the conditions are right.
If you have a faucet in your room, you may turn on that
faucet and water might issue forth, if the conditions are all right.
It would be easy to consider the outlet or the faucet as
sources of energy. But we are already aware that there has to be a generation
of electricity and there has to be a place where water has been collected for
distribution. So it is not very difficult for us to imagine something well
beyond our own walls, where forces are tapped and brought in for our use.
Our entire lives, like The Truman Show, are examples of
borrowed sources. It’s all being pumped in and reality is its stage. Reality is
not the creator, but the created.
Do you see it?
If you can make a list of all of the possible contenders,
you would mark them all off, one by one, until you got to Love. Love is
fundamental. It is uncaused. It is behind everything. Love is The Force. This
is why Love’s current flows in the opposite direction of every other current.
Time goes toward chaos and that’s just entropy as we already understand it.
When you gather, you are gathering from what comes downstream. When you give,
you send your gifts upstream.
We are two things. We are humans, aging and then dying. I
only abbreviated that thought for the sake of this essay; but your life should
be much fuller than that. As for the other part, we are beings and as beings,
Life animates us. We have a choice right there in that intersection. We could
be humans and we could use this Life-Force to provide for the human experience
only. Or we could be beings and we could be conduits for The Force and as we
provide Love, that half of us goes in the other direction; away from chaos and
toward Life everlasting.
“Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and
broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in
thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto
life, and few there be that find it.” ~ Matthew 7:13,14 KJV
This is the most important lesson you could ever learn.
It is not consciousness, but Love we need and we cannot
gather Love by getting it. As stated in that text above, it is difficult and it
is narrow. However, this does not mean what it seems to say; it means that the
passageways are difficult to see, difficult to believe, difficult to accept. As
you go through this life, you will walk right by many opportunities to Love.
But if you will watch for them, you will notice them. If you will take
advantage of them, you are investing in Your Joy. Not taking advantage of
opportunities to Love is referred to as “Sin”. It just means “Missed.”
Think of the labyrinth as having hidden passages at every
step. Those passages are not hard to get into, they are just hard to spot.
Anything you can do to send the current back to The Source is a good idea. When
you awaken from this dream called life, you will find all of your gifts, at
your own feet. Promote your eternal Self by laying up your treasure now. That’s
only possible by Loving. You will be blessed by your blessings. Add joy to Your Life, by Love.
